The building is located in the center of Patras, at the Psila Alonia Square, and combines a small conference center, a café-restaurant, a small library and six apartments. These apartments are planned as accommodation and place of work for the participants of the organized conferences held in the building’s conference center. The building is articulated in two parts, the ground floor which is public and refers to the whole city of Patras and the two volumes raising above the conference center which are addressed to the tenants/users of the apartments. These two volumes are grounded on the solid volume of the ground floor and are connected through a transparent volume made of steel and glass which carries the staircases, elevators and corridors that connect the apartments. This light transparent volume contributes in the visual contact and distinction of the views to and from the building while also lightens the structures’ appearance.
